Today I went to the car wash to, as you guessed it, wash my car. Some kid was there with a Civic that sounded quite healthy. Talked to him, and he said he likes to run it at the 1/4 mile, where it's a 13 second car. It wasn't super pretty, but it was still nice.
Then I was driving around town and saw a guy washing a Lotus in his driveway, and there was some kind of Corvette poking out of the garage. Of course I turned around and stopped in. The Lotus was a 2010 Exige S. It was pretty darn nice. It gets loved and driven by the owner, who is the guys wife. The car is white with a wrap on it that is the colors and logos from her business.
I got to sit in the Exige. It was quite nice. A little cramped but livable. For one person in there.
Now, on to the Corvette. It is an original Canadian car. A 1969 t-top 427 car. It's an original triple 2 barrel carbed car. It's been warmed up a bit according to the guy, and it looked like it. The original 427 block was sitting in the corner covered up. He said he likes to put it down the 1/4 mile, and he thinks it's a flat 12 second car. He's waiting to get the suspension he just put under it aligned and settled in before he takes it to the strip again.
It wasn't a perfect car, but it gets used and abused. Battle scars can still be pretty. The Exige had an chip out of it's fender from it rolling down the driveway into the Corvette.
We chatted for an hour, and I mentioned wanting to get some pictures of the car some time. He said to stop by whenever it's in the driveway. So my plan is to get some nice pictures of both that I can share at some point.
On to other cars I've recently seen;
-two Tesla Model S's (one green, one black)
-some kind of Bently
-a black Ferrari California (I'm 99% sure that's what it was)
-a blue and white striped Ford GT
-two different Viper ACR's (a black one and a white one)
-a dark grey BMW E39 M5 (sounded glorious)
-a grey Porsche 911 GT3
I think there has been others, but I can't remember them right now. I know there was a few old muscle cars I saw.
All these brought to you from the Durham Region of Ontario.

Jelly. I wish I could happen upon some random nice guy with an Exige - I'd totes ask him for a ride... or at least just to sit in it :)
